Bosch DAS 1000

Bosch DAS 1000 calibration kit: Professional adjustment of sensors and cameras for driver assistance systems

By using various calibration targets, the Bosch DAS 1000 becomes a versatile, multi-brand calibration tool.

Calibrating sensors and cameras opens up new revenue opportunities for automotive workshops. However, this requires the right expertise, access to manufacturer-specific information on sensor and camera systems, and appropriate workshop equipment. With the DAS 1000 calibration kit, Bosch offers a professional ADAS workshop solution that enables precise calibration of radar sensors and cameras used in driver assistance systems.

Originally developed for vehicles manufactured by the VW Group, the system has significantly expanded its capabilities. With various calibration targets, it is now compatible with almost all major brands from Europe, Japan, and Korea.

For this purpose, the calibration targets are mounted on the SCT 1415 adjustment bar, which ensures high-precision alignment and transforms the calibration kit into a truly universal, multi-brand tool. For precise geometric axle determination, the robust calibration kit can be combined with the Bosch FWA 4650+ 3D wheel alignment system or the Bosch FWA 4455 CCD system. A step-by-step process guided by the dedicated FWA software assists the operator in correctly positioning the measurement equipment.

In cases where the equipment is intended solely for camera calibration—such as in specialist glass service centers—Bosch also offers a basic version that complies with manufacturer specifications. For this purpose, the calibration kit includes a laser module for alignment along the vehicle’s longitudinal centerline, as well as the SCT 415 front camera calibration device.

Bosch's ESI[tronic] workshop software completes the ADAS calibration system by providing vehicle-specific calibration procedures and adjustment steps for radar- and camera-based driver assistance systems, including intelligent lighting systems. Workshops are given access to comprehensive information and training methods for sensor calibration across all common vehicle models on the market.

Meticulous preparation combined with professional tools guarantees success.

To successfully calibrate ADAS systems, workshops must meticulously adhere to the wide range of manufacturer specifications. Professional calibration systems certified by OEMs—such as the Bosch DAS 1000, FWA software, or ESI[tronic] workshop software—offer outstanding support for mechatronics and the entire calibration process.
