Bosch Brake Rotors and Pads

The Perfect Match For Your Vehicle

Bosch is the world’s leading supplier of anti-lock braking systems (ABS), traction control systems (TCS) and electronic stability programs (ESP), thus Bosch makes a substantial investment each year in the research and development of brake products and systems. Bosch brake pads are designed to perform like the original, the advanced friction formulations in Bosch Blueline brake pads are intelligently matched to vehicles to deliver quiet, clean and reliable stopping power performance. Selecting the right brake pads has never been easier.

Why select Copper Free or Ceramic Brake Pads

Copper Free Brake Pads

Copper is a durable metal that can dissipate heat quickly. That’s the primary reason why copper has been mixed with other ingredients in brake pads. The faster the pads dissipate heat, the cooler pads run and the better the pads resist brake fade. That improves pedal feel, stopping distance and braking safety.

But copper has an effect on the eco-system. Microscopic brake dust particles that vehicles generate on our roads often end up in places where it causes environmental harm. Copper brake dust from highways near lakes, rivers and reservoirs can pollute the water and harm aquatic life. Urban brake dust can also end up in rivers and lakes when rain washes the dust down storm sewers that connect to these bodies of water.

Most of these new low or no copper brake pads outperform the last generation friction materials they replace (better stopping power, fade resistance, pad life and noise suppression).

“Leaf Marks” also are being used on some packaging to indicate the compliance level of the product. The more leaves that are colored in, the better (one leaf greater than 5 percent copperm, two leaves is less than 5 percent copper and three leaves is less than 0.5 percent copper). As time goes on, we will see less and less pads containing copper.

Ceramic Brake Pads

Ceramic brake pads are still a relatively new friction technology, however have quickly become the popular friction material choice for brake pads.

Due to their material quality, performance, ceramic brake pads are often seen as the “best” brake pad material choice. Customers may ask for this friction material by name, however ceramic brake pads aren’t always right for every customer and every vehicle.

Ceramic brake pads are best recommended to customers who do a lot of commuting/city driving, enjoy the look of cleaner rims free of black brake dust and don’t push their vehicle through severe-duty use like heavy towing or track driving.

  • Quieter braking events – Ceramic brake pads will be quieter than organic or semi-metallic brake pads.
  • Reduced brake dust - Ceramic brake pads produce a dust that is lighter in color and less likely to be noticeable on wheels.
  • Longer lasting - compared to organic or semi-metallic brake pads, due to the compounds in the friction material.
  • Excellent heat dissipation - longer brake pad life and less fading.
  • Stable braking under a wide range of temperatures for reliable performance.
  • Great choice for climates or environments where corrosion is evident.

  • Lower co-efficient of friction eg Less bite than semi-metallic brake pads.
  • Possible higher braking system temperatures due to less heat absorbency than other offerings.
  • Not recommended for severe-heavy duty applications, eg when requiring greater pressure on the system to get the same stopping power as under regular driving conditions.
  • Ceramic brake pads can create excessive rotor wear if rotors are not the same high quality as the brake pads themselves.

Why Choose Bosch?

Global Trusted Brand

  • Bosch is a renowned global automotive innovator with over 90 years of brake development.
  • Vehicle brakes are subjected to extreme loads. For example, braking horsepower is about 10 times engine horsepower, which is why brake pads reach such high temperatures. During long mountain descents or when driving in stop-and-go highway traffic, temperatures can easily reach as high as 650°C. To ensure safety, brake pads therefore need to be regularly inspected and replaced only with high quality products such as Bosch brake pads.

Quality and Performance Guaranteed

  • Bosch European brake applications are designed to meet the increasing demands of today’s vehicles.
  • Bosch brake pads have been developed to withstand extreme loads and are manufactured from especially high-quality materials. Extensive performance and NVH dynamometer testing along with extreme environment testing ensures that Bosch brake pads demonstrate a high level of performance and service life before being approved for sale.

European Vehicles

  • Bosch Blue Line brake pads are vehicle match engineered to determine the best match of advanced friction formulations.
  • All Bosch European brake pads comply with ECE R90 regulation.
